If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

Lily loves christmas and Dash hates it, but this won’t stop neither of them to finding a little piece missing in both of them as Dash finds Lily’s notebook which dares him to find the joy he is lacking. Never meeting each other but pourng their hearts in the notebook they’ll get to know each other and will absolutely fall for each other without even realizing it. -Do you dear to feel the love this season?(paraphrasing netflix).

Wow, i regularly love David Levithan books and this one even being co-written wasn’t a disappointment.

Both Dash and Lily are lovable character you just want to know more about. Normally i find charatcers who love books in books to be condescending, like “oh look, they are a snowflake”, but this time it was very heartfelt. I had no problem with the way the characters behaved.

I loved the plot, it was such a sweet way of knowing something. I think if i was one of them i would also participate in the dares and have fun. It is, after all, a great way of knowing someone and falling.

The writing isn’t particularly special, i gotta admit. It’s simple and straight (no pun intended) forward. I don’t usually enjoy this kind of books, but i really loved Dash and Lily, and they were worth the reading. All the time i was like “when are they gonna meet? are they meeting yet? will they meet?” i just was expecting the moment so so much, that when it happened i just almost fell from my seat.

There was something magical in the mundane kind of story it was.

By the way Dash and Lily became OTP, not only because of the book but also because of the netflix original series, which i’m currently watching. It is pretty accurate and i like that, it changed a few timings but as far as i can see most of it it’s there.

One of my favorite things on the book is how easily Lily infects you with the holiday spirit. I was totally feeling Christmasy as i was reading the book and even Dash could not ruin that for me.

It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s full of heart and love to love, christmas and reading. I gave rounded it up to 4 stars because as soon as i finished reading i immediatly wanted to read The Twelve Days of Dash And Lily. It may be because of the netflix series… i don’t really know.

Would i recommend it? Sure if you are looking for a fun and easy reading for the season i totally recommend it. Are you a fan of the authors? Read it. You want to feel the christmas spirit? Read it. You just… David Levithan is one of my favorite authors i cannot be unbiased.

Just give it a try, dare to enjoy it and then tell me your thoughts on the book! Leave your comment down below!

Happy days!

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares

I’ve left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.
At the urge of her lucky-in-love brother, sixteen-year-old Lily has left a red notebook full of dares on her favourite bookshop shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept. Curious, snarky Dash isn’t one to back down from a challenge – and the Book of Dares is the perfect distraction he’s been looking for.

As they send each other on a scavenger hunt across Manhattan, they’re falling for each other on paper. But finding out if their real selves share their on-page chemistry could be their biggest dare yet….

Let it Snow

An ill-timed storm on Christmas Eve buries the residents of Gracetown under multiple feet of snow and causes quite a bit of chaos. One brave soul ventures out into the storm from her stranded train and sets off a chain of events that will change quite a few lives. Over the next three days one girl takes a risky shortcut with an adorable stranger, three friends set out to win a race to the Waffle House (and the hash brown spoils), and the fate of a teacup pig falls into the hands of a lovesick barista.

A trio of today’s bestselling authors – John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle- brings all the magic of the holidays to life in three hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and kisses that will steal your breath away.
