This Week’s Topic is:

Where do you post your reviews? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews

Well, this is kind of an easy question.

I’m mostly publish my reviews on my blog, since it’s the place i made especially for that purpoise. I’ve been posting my reviews on this blog since 2014 or 2015. Yes, i know there aren’t as many as they should be since i’ve been here for so long, but you know i had a rough patch for a few years with my blog and only now it’s actually working for me all the blogging stuff.

Aside of my blog i obviously share my reviews for eArcs with NetGalley and i think that makes it published on goodreads? I’m not very sure, but sometimes it appears as if i do post my reviews on goodreads althought i don’t do that myself because i’m too shy and i feel my reviews are terrible to be there.

Yes, i don’t know either why do i write reviews if i think they are terrible, but like, i do them mostly for my own reference, if i forget what i thought of a book and such.

Sorry for the short answer but truly don’t have much to say about it, and also, i’m still a little weak from my surgery.

See ya next time! ~ ♥

Have you ever searched out theme songs for your favorite books?(submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

This is such a fun kind of question.

If i only did it.

Like, i would give you some of my playlists to listen to and hope you see what i see in the music i chose. But sadly, i listen to very little music and it never goes with the kind of books i read, like one time i decided Du riechst so gut (You smell so good) by Rammstein to be the perfect anthem to James in Twilight, but like, that’s the only time i think i ever give a playlists or more like a song to a character.

Other than that i like to imagine Simon and Bram dance to So Emotional or You Spin Me Round (Like A Record).

It’s really funny and i totally enjo it. But as i said, i’m not really one to do that kind of thing.

If i were someone who listened to more and different kinds of music i would totally choose playlists to the books i read. But i listen to like 5 and a half bands, so i don’t have much to choose from.

Sorry this isn’t such a great post where i share a ton of new music to you 🤷‍♀️. I’m just not that kind of person.

In case you wonder what music do i listen to:

  • Rammstein
  • Queen
  • X-Japan
  • My Chemical Romance
  • Linkin Park
  • Luna Sea (sometimes)

That’s it.

Do you search theme songs for your favorite books? You are more than invited to share them down below in the comments!

Book Blogger Hop | Staying Up Late To Read

How long have you stayed up to read a book? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

I gotta admit i’m not a huge fan of staying up too late for anything. Seen as i’m a morning person i rather wait and read in the day.

I know books can be very persuasive, i mean…. if it’s a series you really love and you just HAVE TO KNOW what happens next, i can understand people staying too late for that, but i cannot remember doing so in a really long time.

It’s not that i didn’t do it, ever, i just can’t really remember when was the last time.

I mean, obviously i stayed past my sleeping time to read but not more than 1am, or even less. You see i work really earily and i need my sleep because otherwise i may commit a ton of mistakes and since i workwith money that wouldn’t be good.

I think the last time i stayed up until more than 1am was when reading Half Lost by Sally Green. Half Lost is the third and last book in the Half Life trilogy and that was a book the moment i started reading i couldn’t stop until it was over. Oh man, that ending, i can’t get over it after years.

If you ask me which books i stayed up too late to read, i’ll have to admit it was always the Harry Potter books, more than any other. Like the last three books were totally worth stay up for.

But i’ll tell you what. Like with tv shows that are up at hours too earily. I prefer to wake up really earily in the morning to keep on reading than staying up too late. At my age (one could think i was that old, lol) i prefer being up all day reading than staying at night, it’s just the fact that being in bed just makes me sleepy and i can’t stay up too much. I prefer sitting in my sofa and reading or in the bus. Also, audiobooks are a great way of finishing books really quickly because you can decide the speed you put to the reader, and so books tend to go a little faster.

So yeah, i don’t stay up much.

What about you? Do you stay up much to read books? Leave your comment down below!

This Week’s Topic is:

How often do you post on your blog and/or social media? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews

I recently talked about this topic on the blog, i’ve been trying to be as active and post as much as i can. I had my blog very forgotten until last October when i started posting more regularly and since then i haven’t stopped making content. I really enjoy blogging, almost as much as i enjoy reading, only it gives me a little more anxiety.

It’s difficult to function much when not being able to post makes me anxious. I’ll be worried all week if i know i can’t post enough or if i didn’t read a book and i don’t have a review to post.

Still, i manage to post as much as i can, because i love posting stuff for you guys. I know my audience isn’t big but the few views i get, make me happy and i always want to be there for you sharing all the book related stuff that i can.

These days i changed a bit the way i was posting, and now the schedule looks different from how it was before. At the moment the posting schedule on my blog is:

Sunday: Review

Monday: Book Blogger Hop (weekly meme)

Tuesday : Top 5 Tuesday (weekly meme)

Wednesday: WWW Wednesday (weekly meme), Can’t-Wait Wednesday (weekly meme)

Thursday: Review

Friday: Let’s Talk Bookish (weekly meme)

Satuday: Free day or freebie, according to how i’m feeling.

Obviosuly since i’m doing a lot of weekly memes i’m leaving behind a little my own content which i’m planning on post on Satudays or in between other posts.

I have more memes and reviews i make some times i have: Random Post Sunday, Reminisicing Monday, Old Friend Revisited, Thoughts on Thursday, Books on Sale (which i post when i find great deals), Reading the Classics, TBR of the month, Anticipated Books for the month, Favorites of the month and the Monthly Wrap up.

As i said before in previous posts i also have a lot of ideas for posts i need to find the time to write and share with you.

I know it looks like a lot of work but blogging is one of my favorite hobbies, and if i didn’t have the time i wouldn’t be doing it so much.

As for social media i have to admit as i’m an anxious person it is very difficult for me to use them. I know a blog it’s a kind of social media but it is the only kind that doesn’t give me anxiety that much. I used to be a lot more active on twitter (two years ago) because of a fandom i was in, and i used tumblr a lot and i still do sometimes, i just had to give up a little on them because they were too difficult to handle for me.

I know social media could help a lot to my views and the traffic on my blog, but seriously, it is so difficult for me use them i prefer work a little harder on how much and what i blog than use social media.

Oh, i totally forgot about goodreads… does it count as a social media? Because i do use it, especially for my reading challenge but i find it hard to post my reviews there and like share much of my reading experience. I prefer my blog, it feels saffer a less stressful to me.

I hope this answers every question that could pop in your mind about how i post, why i do it this way and why i don’t particularly use social media.

How is your posting schedule and do you use social media? Which one is your favorite one? Leave your comment down below!

Book Blogger Hop | Love Triangles (UGH).

This Week’s Topic is:

What’s your opinion on love triangle plots? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

I hate them.

Okay, i think that’s too short for this post…

I don’t like love triangles, never did and never will… That’s the main reason i didn’t finished reading Clockwork Princess. I have to admit Cassandra Clare was very creative on how to end that love triangle, but normally authors aren’t that creative.

It’s like, authors have no ideas on how to complicate things for a couple, so they have to bring another person to the mix so it won’t work at first and it’s extremely difficult for me to handle that. I just like my couples known from the beginning.

Ugh, a few days ago i was talking about my most hated trope (Let’s Talk Bookish | The Most Annoying Trope.) and now this one too … this is the second most hated trope in my book.

I feel like you could bring a lot of trouble to a couple without having to bring up a third wheel. It’s just that most authors feel a little too lazy or out of ideas. Why? Why would two guys or even more fall for the same girl? Is she the only one in the world? Are they too lazy to look for other gals? I know i’m treating the topic too heteronormatively, but actually most LGBT+ books have better tropes. At least the ones i’ve read.

Anyway, i’m thinking of Twilight. Why would they all fall for the most boring girl in the whole world?

I can’t stand the idea of love triangles, okay? they just really annoy me and it’s not because they always end up with the guy i hate, although it is part of it. It’s just… really annoying and i don’t enjoy reading about people who cannot make up their mind about who they like.

I feel like i’m coming too harsh on this topic, but it is what it is.

This kind of books bring me a lot of discomfort and unnecessary pain.

So i don’t like them.

What is your opinion on the topic? Every response will be received with respect and love.

Where do you get book images for your posts? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

This is a sad topic for me. You see, i own at least 300 books (at home) i have a few hundred more at my mother’s house.

But i’m very bad at photography.

This doesn’t mean i try from time to time to take my own photos for the posts:

But you can totally see i suck.

So i normally take my book photos from goodreads or google. Yeah, i know, it’s petty, but i don’t have many options.

I prefer the goodreads pictures because they are specifically of the book.

Anyway, i’ll leave you the photos i own at the moment that i took because, why not? If we are already taking about the topic and i never published them…

You can totally see i’m not good at it. ( I know these are “old” books but they are from my last visit to Scotland and i think it was in 2017).

Anyway, i think that was the topic for this week, so that’s all for now!

Have a great day ~ ! ♥

Book Blogger Hop | Favorite Character Of All Time

Who is your favorite character…of all the books you’ve read? Why? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

This is without a doubt the hardest question ever.

I’ve loved so many characters through the years and i still love most of them. Having to pick just one is just too difficult.

Yet, i sat and thought about it all week, because i needed to give an honest answer and i didn’t want to start talking about all the characters i love. And what do you think? I could come up with an answer for this question!

There is a book i’ve read at least 20 times in the last few years, and it’s one of my favorites of all time if not my favorite. The book is Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster and the main character is without a doubt my favorite character of all time.

Puffin Classics Ser.: Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster (1995, UK-B Format Paperback) for sale online | eBay

Jerusha Abbott (AKA Judy) is a simple girl, she was left in an orphanage when she was born and at the sweet age of 18 she was given the opportunity to go to a college and get an english degree by a mysterious man.

Aside from the fact that she is an orphan, i could see myself being and behaving just like her in the time she was born and i absolutely adore her for that. I’ve lived through her so many times and she inspired me so much through the years i cannot pick a different character as my favorite ever.

Jerusha is just who i would’ve want to be if i were in that time and if i had her background and opportunity.

She is sweet, honest, naive, intelligent, incredibly stuborn and resilient , just like me.

I realize it is weird to have a favorite character that it’s just like you, but there’s something about reading, the way i can immerse myself in her story is the most gratificating of them all. Also it makes sense to me to like a person like myself, not because i’m a narcissist but because we could be great friends.

Well… I guess that’s it for this week’s topic!

This Week’s Topic is:

Do you have a monthly/yearly budget for books? Or are you a “what’s a book budget?” kind of reader? (submitted by Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books)

Quotes about Buying Books (46 quotes)

I think this is a topic i already discussed on my blog a lot, because i have no real budget for books, i see a book i like i buy it.

Recently i started giving a budget to myself, and more than anything i try to read books i already purchased because i used to buy a lot of book but i wouldn’t read them.

It happened that i bought over 40 books in a month a few years ago and i had to put a ban on myself because it was getting out of control. I can’t remember the name of the post because it was so long ago, but yeah i have a buying problem. (check, i found the post it’s called Post of Shame)

This year i’m trying to buy one or two books that come out per month and i have a wishlist i check on everyday to see if they are on sale (i’m so sorry authors i just can’t afford so many books).

I do have a budget for audiobooks. I have my member’s account on audible, and when i can’t afford a book because it is too expensive i usually use my credits to buy it as an audiobook which is way less expensive. Sometimes i buy more credits on audible, but it is really way less expensive because i will be buying a book that costs more than 20usd for like 12usd.

Also, there are always a lot of sales on audible which are buy one book get one for free or buy three books pay for two and it helps a lot because that way i get a lot nore books. Yes, my audioshlef has more than 200 books because i’ve been on audible since late 2014.

Lately i’m only buying kindle books, mostly because the good books don’t get in time to my country. I live in the middle of nowhere and they just, don’t bring enough new books, like Leah on the off beat is one of the newest they brought recently and i just can’t live with that.

I used to buy a ton of books on Bookdepository, but my new address is messy and nothing gets to my house, also it’s way cheaper and it takes less room when i buy digital books.

For more information on my budgeting proccess you can check my posts Budgeting | 2021& Overbuying books though i think i talked about pretty much the same.

That’s it for this topic! Hope to see yu next week!

Book Blogger Hop | The Character I’m Most Like

This Week’s Topic:

What book character do you think you are most like and why?(submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

I wouldn’t talk about this character, because i’m very upset with the author who created her, but if i have to talk about a character that i’m most like to is Hermione Granger.

Shocked Harry Potter GIF

I don’t know how many of the people on the booksphere feels like her, but she is the most relatable character i’ve ever read of.

Since i was very little i always loved learning and was great at it, i love books and following rules.

I’m a hard worker, i’m always trying to know new stuff, i’m good at styuding and love doing school work. Also, i’m always up to helping others not only with their school work but in their lives.

At the same time, i feel like i’m a very loyal friend and always ready to do anything for a friend. I love to be always prepared and sometimes i feel people doesn’t like me because i’m too strict.

I may not be as fierce as she is but i always find a way to defend the people and stuff i love.

There are obviously differences between us, but i think i would up ended up with Ron Weasley myself if i was her. I know The Cursed Child hints at the fragility of her relationship with him, but i guess we all need a person like him in our lives.

She has always been my favorite character in the books, because it was like being in the story myself.

Too bad i won’t be rereading the books because of JK’s behavior and sayings.

This Week’s Topic:

Do you collect bookmarks?(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews

The answer to this question is difficult. I mean, i obviously own some bookmarks, i don’t go about and just fold pages, but to be completely honest i don’t go buying bookmarks either.

I used to buy a lot of book at bookdepository, and they always come with a bookmark so all of my bookmarks are from there, to be honest. I don’t know, i never thought about buying so because i have so many and i never found one that was completely special and asked me to take it home.

I’m sure you guys have way more than me.

Anyway, most of the time i try for the bookmark to match the book i’m reading, so if the cover is blue i’ll choose a blue bookmark and such.

I don’t know, i love bookmarks, there just aren’t any interesting ones where i live.

So, here are all my bookmarks, sorry for the bad pictures, i’m just really bad taking photos.

These are all my bookmarks. Yes, i thought about coloring the black and white ones, but then… i just didn’t want to ruin them. Also sometimes i use sticky notes instead of bookmarks but shhhhh, that’s a secret between me and you, okay?? By the way i’m sure i have more bookmarks they are just all over my library, in books i didn’t finished (yet). Like, there’s one with a bunch of people reading different kinds of books that i didn’t find.

But anyway, this is all for today!

What are some of your favorite bookmarks? Do you collect them? Do you even use them? Leave a comment and the link to your own post down below!
