Hello there, fellow readers! ~ ♥
I know Thursdays are supposed to be review days but i had surgery yesterday and i didn’t have the time to write a review for today, so sorry about that!
Still, i want you to know i’ll be working my hands of to bring you as much content as i can while i’m recovering from my surgery…
Meanwhile, let me know how are you doing? How are you feeling? Has something interesting happened to you this week? I hope you are doing great! I’ll be back tomorrow with a new post!

Have a nice day!
Hey there, fellow readers!
As i said in a few posts before this one, this month i’m getting surgery which means i’ll have a recovery time of two weeks before i go back to work :). As a book lover i decided to dedicate most of the time of my recovery to reading. I have a ton of books waiting on my TBR, especially on my 2021 TBR, so i decided to take some of books waiting on my shelves with me on this “vacation”.
Since it’s only two weeks and i’m a slow reader i decided on only 5 books, which were really difficult to choose because of the many books i have currently on my TBR, but i think i made great decisions and i wanted to share with you the books i hope i’ll read while recovering which are:
Most of the books are by authors i’ve already read before and i love, only Wilder Girls will be a new kind of writing style for me, but i’ve been meaning to read it since i purchased it a few months ago.
*I’m also taking an omnibus version of Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Different Story* but that’s just a bonus.
I really hope i come back to you guys, and that everything goes well on the surgery… Wish me luck!
See you after the fact! ~ ♥
Hey there fellow readers!
I’ve been thinking a lot about the topic of, what will i do the day i leave this blog. Obviously it’s not something i’m planning on doing for the time being, but i think it’s something worth planning to. I mean, at the moment my blog is in a good place, it could be better, but i just enjoy doing what i do, i’m not asking for more than i already got. I’m blogging because i’m enjoying doing so, and i think it’s a good place to bring myself as i am for real.
The thing is, i truly started wondering what will i do the day i get tired of blogging about books and decide to move on with my life. I don’t know if that day will ever come, but hey, i’d like to be prepared for anything that could happen.
And so, i’ve been thinking about it a lot. I looked at how my life looks while blogging, how it takes times and it’s so much fun for me. I love blogging about books, and i truly enjoy doing so, but one day i mmight not like it anymore, or need a time out from the internet, so here is what i’ll do when (and if) i leave this blog.
Since i’m a book blogger, i need to be reading so i have content to make. This doesn’t mean i’ll stop reading the day i leave this blog, but i might read larger books that will took me more time to read. I usually read 300-400 pages books because it’s easy for me to finish and then i can review 1 or 2 book per week. I know it’s not much but it’s my best and i’m happy enough with that.
If i ever leave this blog and have the time to actually read larger books the first one i’ll want to read is 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. It’s a book i totally want to read but it’s also a really long trilogy (more than 1000 pages) which i don’t feel like i have the time to do right now.
You have to understand how important is for me to bring you as much content as i can, i do my best. I know i’m not a great blogger but i’m always trying my best.
So, as i was saying. I would read larger books because no one will be expecting me to publish a review on it.
I talked about my fear of big book a while ago (Who Is Afraid Of The Big Book? (Spoiler, it’s me)) and my biggest fear to be honest is not being able to post anything in the blog for a while. I know i’ve been away for a very long time and i wasn’t as active as i am now before October 2020, but right now the blog is my most important hobbie, alongside reading, and i want to have as much content as i can.
I think as a reader who have beenaway of reading for a long time, i won’t be doing so again. Rediscovering reading has been one of my biggest and happiest moments of my life up until one. So, i’ll keep doing so, or at least that’s what i hope for.
Another thing i might do is read all the YA i didn’t read when they were popular, stuff like Fallen and Hush, Hush. I know it sounds lame but i’m extremely curious about a lot of series i didn’t read before, and those i feel don’t have a place right now in the blogsphere.
Also, i would reread a ton of old favorite like Beautiful Creatures, just because i can. I don’t think i have the time to reread them right now and bring more and new content to the blog, so for now it is in stand by.
Well… i guess, overall what i plan on doing the day i retire is to take it easy, enjoy different readings of what i usually bring to the blog and just enjoy a few old favorites.
Please don’t think i’m holding myself back because of the blog, it’s just the way i have to merge the two hobbies i have. I still read a lot of book i truly enjoy and love and that’s because of this blog.
Thank you so much for the opportunities you’ve given me by reading everything i post and share, you guys are amazing and i hope to be around for a very long time.
Do you plan for your retirement of blogging? If so what do you plan on doing then? Leave your comment down below!
Another month is almost over and it’s time to look back at it and see what did i enjoy the most!
Finally, Superman & Lois is back, i was really missing this show! I don’t watch any other DC content but i really enjoy this TV show, it might be because i really like the storyline of the sons and Clark and Lois being parents to teenagers. The story is becoming really interesting (the first time i watched the first episode it felt like a drag) and it’s really growing on me. I’m glad i’m watching it.
Finally my babies Magne and Laurits came back for a second season i binge-watched. The story had a few of wtf moments and it isn’t flawless but i enjoyed it nonetheless. Lautrits is by far my favorite character on the show but Magne is still amazing. It might be not the best show out there but i still like it, a lot.
I was recommended these trilogy (?) after watching The Blackwell Ghost series. It hasn’t the best story but i did scare me at times and i really enjoyed watching it. Would totally recommend.
This was without a doubt the best book i read this month, it taught me so much about Korean Mythology and it was so well written. Listen, we need more Middle Grade books like this one, i’m just saying it. It has all the potential Percy Jackson did and it had some plot twist i wasn’t expecting, really a great book, I recommend it with all my heart.
A book i wasn’t expecting to like as much as i did. It was truly something, now i undertsnad the fuss about it. I really enjoyed it and was so surprised by it in such a great way. Absolutely fantastic.
I didn’t listen to much music this month, and nothing really stood out. I just listen to The Pretender by the Foo Fighters and Nirvana more than usual, but it was a silent month for most of it. Nothing really to say here.
What were your favorites this month?! Leave your comment down below!
When i talk about books i love, i always talk about the same ones. I’ve realized this not long ago and because of that i wanted to get a shout out to the rest of the books i adore with all my heart and never give them the space they deserve. Obviously there are more books that may be on a favorite standard, but either i can recalled them this moment or i just talked about them before.
Yes, i do realize having this book as a favorite is a cliche. Still, i remember reading it when i was in high school and really feeling connected to Holden. There was something different about him than any other character i’ve ever read about and so i used to call him my literary boyfriend, thinking on how we would run away together. It’s been a while since i last read the book and i can’t remember if he wanted to go east or west (i think east), but i used to write him letters every week.
This book changed my life and the way i write fiction. I remember the death of Snowden in the book as if i read it yeasterday. The way this book describes things, it just changed me forever. I loved the main character, and i loved the fact that his crewmate was dead in the tent and nobody cared. Like, honestly, what is this book. Can i tattoo everything on my skin, i wish i had this book on my body.
The book i wish i could remember by heart. If you know what i mean. At first i didn’t like this book, but by the end i was so engaged i couldn’t stop reading it. Such a remarkable book. I have scenes marked in my brain, i think i’ll never forget them.
I own the same edition. I remember reading it in spanish for the first time, and how i started to talk the same way the characters did while i was reading it. I had many expectation for O’Brein, but i guess back then i wasn’t that good catching up what was gonna happen. Now it’s much easier. Another book i wish i could tattoo on my skin. Amazing book.
When i read this book i happened to meet a person with the same characteristics as the main character which made the experience even more interesting. Obviously the person i knew didn’t went through the treatment as the main character (Charlie) did, but he began in the same place as the person i met. It was interesting because i could see their behavior and understood more the story Charlie was going through, or so i felt.
I haven’t read much by Paulo Coelho, but this is my favorite book by him. By far the most eye opener of them all, i enjoy it so much, i love the quotes i took from it, i still think about them a lot. Still, not one of my favorite authors, i think he is pretty overrated. I know i’m being ridiculous because i keep reading his books after not liking them, but one was worth it, maybe there’s another gem out there.
Sometimes when i’m stressed out i like to repeat a song, a word, a phrase. I’m thinking of ending things is one of those lines i like to repeat to myself when i’m feeling anxiety. For some reason after a while it helps me get trhough the difficult time. Now, the book was the most unexpected book i’ve read in a very long time, and i adored it when i read it. Still one of my favorites.
Somedays i can’t stop myself from thinking about this book. It was just so eerie, i adored it. I don’t have muh to say about it, i just, felt to conected to the characters i couldn’t stop reading once i started i finished it in one sit. Remarkable and unforgettable, the story of these two sisters and what happens in this house will live with me forever.
That’s it! these are some of my favorite books, it’s a shame i don’t speak about them enough so i wanted you to know how much i love them! Do you have any books you really love but you feel like you don’t speak about them enough? Leave your comment down below!
Hey there, everyone!
Today i decided to talk about a little about stuff i enjoy, and since this idea came to me while watching The Falcon and The Winter Soldier i thought i could explain a little about my story with the MCU.
I hadn’t always follow the MCU, actually when i started watching the Iron Man movies i was a little bored and it took me a while before i’d watch them again and enjoy them.
When i was younger i used to watch more of the X-men. As i might have commented before i had a huge crush on Gambit when i was little (about 5 years old). So, yeah i used to watch the 90s tv show and also the teenager X-men, but i never knew about the Avengers and such until it really exploded on the cinemas.
To be completely honest even then i wasn’t that much of a fan of the movies at first.
I didn’t watch the Captain America first movie when it came out. I only watched it when my then best friend told me she would take me to watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier on the cinema for my birthday back then so it makes it 2014 the year i started really watching the movies.
Now, somehow even though i’m a huge fan of super heroes i still wasn’t that much into it. So i kept missing movies (and i have to admit i’m still missing one movie – Captain Marvel). This was until my counselor at the time told me she really loved Chris Evans and she wanted us to go watch Civil War on the theatre.
Let’s say i had a ton of sh*t to catch up on then because back then, i had only watched the first Avengers movie, the two previous Captain America, some of Iron Man and The Guardians of the Galaxy.
Okay, so i went to watch Civil War with everything pretty fresh in my mind since i’ve seen it all pretty close to the movie, and then somehow it exploded in my mind as it did in the theaters.
I started to rewatch the movies, and i really had my personal favorite characters, like, Wanda, Bucky, T’Challa and Loki, which is awesome because most of them now have tv shows.
Still, i wasn’t a die hard fan, i was just a casual fan, with a few favorites.
Let’s say i wasn’t immune to it, but i wasn’t has much of a fan as i am today.
I still have a problem with the fact it all belongs to Disney, since i don’t really like Disney and yet i have to give it my money to watch the movies and the shows.
Well, yeah i have the same problem with Star Wars, but i don’t feel like Disney ruined Marvel the way it did Star Wars, which is a complete disaster and i’m pretty done with it. Yes, i haven’t read comics about the Avengers and such so i technically have no idea if they destroyed something…
That’s the thing you know? You can read the comics, but you don’t need to, to enjoy the MCU. Which is awesome because i prefer manga over comics, and i don’t have the time nor the money to read all the comics i would need to understand everything and have my own theories.
Still, there are a few new novels based on Marvel characters i’m still thinking if i should read like the ones about Shuri.
I have to admit i’m really enjoying the new tv shows, Wandavision was great until the end which was a little meh, and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is getting better with every episode which has me very hyped for it. I mean, it’s such an awesome tv show and Sam and Bucky are such great characters.
Then, as i said before i counted myself as a casual fan but the other day i found myself trying to get Wanda and Bucky’s funkos, and i looked for some posters and i understood i may starting a fixation.
I don’t know to where it will develop, i hope i doesn’t become a thing in my life, because i was having a very healthy relationship with Marvel
(like i don’t own mugs and little action figures of spiderman already).
I guess what i’m trying to say is, yes, it started as a healthy relationship with Marvel, but it may be becoming something more stressing. I hope i doesn’t become a stress point in my life because i’m being very healthy lately and i’m very happy about it, i’m reading, i’m eating healthy, i’m doing sports and meditating and my mind is just clean, and that’s how i like it.
If i see that it starts to go sideways i may have to stop watching the tv shows, because i don’t need that kind of stress in my life.
Like, i’m talking righ now because i have it under control… i hope it keeps that way.
What about you? Do you like Marvel? Do you enjoy the movies, the tv shows? Who is your favorite character? Leave your comment down below!
Random Post Sunday is just a random post i feel like posting on a Sunday, nothing more, nothing less.
Today i wanna talk about the Sad Salad phenomena at my work place.
Yes, as you can see this is a total random post. Yes, it’s about salad.
So, lately i’ve been on a very rigorous diet, i cannot eat any carbohydrates, no, i’m not starbbing myself by myself, this is a diet a doctor gave me and it should be done for a few weeks. If you are thinking of starting a diet please consult your doctor.
This all started a few weeks ago, i’m a little overweight, so my doctor gave me a diet to follow and it doesn’t have carbohydrates as i said before. It shouldn’t be a problem, right? just not eating a few things i’m very used to like rice, potatoes, bread… only, i eat at my work place, and they are the ones that serve the food.
I know this all problem could be solved if i brought my own lunch, but i am too lazy. And anyways, it’s not like i have many other variations to what they bring to eat.
It all started when i found they make caesar salad. I thought to myself, “oh, if i take out the croutones it should be the perfect fit to my diet”, only after a few times eating just lettuce with parmesan cheese it became boring and sad. I never knew a salad could be this sad.
Like, it doesn’t have anything fun in it, it doesn’t have carrot, or tomato, not even cabbage. It is such a boring salad and eating it everyday without any other options it just SAD.
So yeah, i’m very sad, because i miss my carbohydrates, and yes, i’m sick and tired of lettuce, it just, ugh, i cannot see it anymore.
Yes, it is healthy as hell, and it should be making me feel better as i start to eat healthier, but it is so boring, my god, so boring.
Like, invent something to make this kind of food more appealing or something.
I’m so very tired of eating just lettuce all the time, which reminds me of the time one of my classmates decided on eating only a cucumber a day (which you should never do, it’s not healthy), he became so angry all the time, and i’m afraid it may happen to me too, just because of my everyday lettuce.
Can you believe i cannot even eat any fruit?
Sad, just sad.
I’m not saying i want to eat a burger, or something like that…i just want a little more than lettuce, let me have some other vegetables. I’m tired of lettuce.
Are you tired of any food? If so, which one? And what would you eat for the rest of your life if you could only choose one food? Leave your comment down below!
Hey there everyone! I hope you are all doing fine. I´m doing a lot better to be honest, so here i am, ready to present you with a new post!
This time i wanna share with you my experience on why i read more Ebooks than physical ones.
To be honest, i do prefer physical books, they look pretty on you home, and you can hug them when you love them too much. So yeah, if you asked me, i do prefer physical books.
The things is, and this is something i don´t share many times on my blog, but i live in Asia and many times we don´t get many books in English. Since i don´t enjoy much reading books in the country´s language i tend to buy my books in English, so no having a big variety of it is one of the problems.
More so, physical books in here are like twice the price you can get them from other countries or like on kindle. So, mostly i just buy them on kindle because i can get nice prices and i get the book the moment i buy it unless i preorder and then the book is available for me the moment it is released.
So, not having to wait the time i do have when buying physical books helps with the hype. I mean, i my be hyped by a book this week but i´ll lose my interest on it next week because i didn´t get it.
It helps me keep track on the newest books.
Since i live far and book can arrive a month or two after they are released, it´s obvious i´ll prefer the now option of getting a book i´m dying to read the moment they are released. This way, keeping up with all new books i want to read. That way i could read a book and even finish it the same day it is released.
Because i read most my books in English it helps me keep the language fresh in my mind. If i didn´t read as many books in English as i do, my English would be even worse than it is right now. Imagine that.
The most important thing, the biggest problem i have with physical books is the size of the font. I struggle very much concentrating when the letters are too small, and this way, in my kindle i can manage it. I can have the font size i want, read as comfortable as i can.
As you can see, for me, living where i do, being who i am, the ebook option is the rightest. I can have books as fast as they come out, i can save money and it is easier to concentrate. Yet, when i love a book too much or it calls me i still buy them because i want them on my physical library.
And now it´s your turn, do you read more ebooks or physical books and why ? Leave your comment down below!
One of the goals i gave myself this year was to read a classic a month. This far i’ve was doing just fine, i mean… it was only two months so i wasn’t that surprised i managed to do it, i read Slaughter-house Five and Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland (January and February). This month though i thought i wasn’t gonna make it.
I already said in a few posts i’m having renal problems and i’m going from hospital to hospital, so i haven’t been reading much this month since i’m really in pain.
Mostly i’ve been resting (sleeping a lot) to get away from the pain.
Yet, last week as i was visiting the hospital the other week and as i was waiting for my treatment i really remembered a movie i really loved as i was a child, Matilda. When i was growing up Matilda was one of my favorite movies. Obviously i hadn’t watched it since Mara Wilson talked about her bad experience as a child actor, but i thought that was a movie that could lift my spirits as i was waiting so i decided on doing the best next thing if i couldn’t watch the movie, read the book.
To be honest, i never read it before, but i thought to myself, Matilda is a classic, i could totally read it and set it like the classic for the month. So i bought it on kindle in spanish and set myself to read it as i was getting my treatment.
Oh my gosh.
It was so so epic to finally read it. I adored it. It made the time i was at the hospital fly by. Matilda truly is a magical story.
So, i guess this post is to let you know the “challenge” for the year is still going strong, and that i’m doing a little better and next week I’ll be back as always, writing and sharing my opinions.
I hope tomorrow i’ll be posting my new review, I just have to finish writing it.
Well, that’s all i have for this post. Hope you are all doing okay.
