Book Blogger Hop | Tropes In Books I Like

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, it was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by CoffeeAddictedWriter. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog. 

This week’s topic is:

What are some common tropes you’ve seen in a genre you like to read? Are there any books you’ve read that reverse or change those tropes? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

_{Well, i have to begin with the fact that my favorite genre is contemporary YA, and t has a ton of tropes that come around and around, always. Like, i think there isn’t any book wihout a trope of these, okay, no i can think about one or two books to be honest.}

_{The tropes i come the most about are friends to lovers, which have two different ways of happening, either they have been in love all their lives and thought the other did not, and the ones they they suddenly reaize they are in love. Now, friends to lovers is my favorite trope, like becoming friends and then falling in love? 100% hell yeah, please and thank you. My faovirte ship in this is per se one that i think isn’t canon, but i ship them hard and is Victor and Eli from Vicious. yeah, i haven’t read Vengeful yet, a shame, but i understand Victor is actually asexual. Anyway, i did ship them a lot back in the day as friends who became enemies who would become lovers. That was actually my dream. Hahaha.}

_{Another trope i see a lot is enemies to lovers which i can understand but i don’t enjoy it very much, my favorite though is Simon and Baz from Carry On. That’s my kind of book too, fantasy.}

_{The trope i dislike the most is the one where the girl falls in love with the bad boy, especially because many times they romanticize very toxic relatioships, which i dislike a lot. I can’t think of any book i enjoyed with this trope, though i can’t remember even reading or finishing a book like that.}

_{I can’t think of books that change the trope much, maybe Instant Karma which teaches the main character things aren’t actually the way she thinks they are, and so she starts to fall for the boy, and Peter Pan in which Wendy might have feelings for Peter and they are like “the parents” to the lost boys, but Peter isn’t interested in love and he doesn’t change the way he is for Wendy.}
