Top 10 Books That Have Been On My TBR FOREVER

The last few years has been hard fto reading for me, so i let myself go a little and distanciated myself from books. Books have always been on the back of my mind and i always wanted to come back to them at some point (mostly because i never stopped buying them). Luckly las year i came back to reading and everything was “back to normal”.

As any other person ithink i have a TBR list of books i want to read. I started this TBR list back n 2014 when i discovered Goodreads for the first time. It was also the time i came back to fully reading since a very long time.

My TBR is a list consisting currently of 313 books I’m wanting, to read at some point of my life.

A few weeks back i was making a BR for the year when i checked all the books on my TBR and i have to admit i have some i just can’t let go, but i don’t know if i’ll ever read them. So i thought to share the top 10 books that have been on my TBR forever and i don’t know if i’ll ever read them.

The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2)

10. The Ask And The Answer by Patrick Ness.

This one is ridiculus i haven’t read it yet.

Patrick Ness is one of my favirute authors of all time and i LOVED The Knife Of Never Letting Go (the frst book in the trilogy), so i have honestly no idea why i haven’t read the sequel yet. I love the world he created and the story is really compelling. I have to admit it is in my 2021 TBR list but who knows if ‘ll ever read it? Ialso have Monster of Men (the last book in the trilogy waiting for me at home)…. I don’t know… wish me luck i guess.

Renegades (Renegades, #1)

9. Renegades by Marissa Meyer.

I loved The Lunar Chronicles, even though i haven’t actually finish it yet (the last book is too long and i can’t cope with long books at this moment). But i really like the way Marissa writes, so i have no idea why i didn’t try this trilogy until now. It’s like with Instant Karma, i just can’t bring myself to do it. This one is on my regular TBR in hopes to be read one day.

You Know Me Well

8. You Know Me So Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan.

I adore both authors i truly have no idea why i haven’t read this book yet. David is amazing on co-writing books, i read a few and Nina is just a wonderful writer… i have no idea what is happening here. I own the book since it came out and i didn’t even try to read it yet. I feel so ashamed.

The Arsonist

7. The Arsonist by Stephanie Oakes.

I have this book on my TBR since it was announced. ANNOUNCED. I managed to buy it a few years later and it is still waiting on my kindle. I loved the previous book by the author so i don’t know why i haven’t picked this one up. I guess i just need to try it and luckily i’ll go with the flow.

The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley

6. The Five Stages of Drew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson.

I waited ages for this book to be on sale because at the time i couldn’t afford it. And then i started reading it, but another book came across and i stopped and then another book came across, and another, and then another… I really love the way the author writes, Shaun is an amazing writer, but i guess i just forgot about this book….? I hope i can read it this yer or something, somewhen soon.

Cure for the Common Universe

5. Cure For The Common Universe by Christian McKay Heidicker.

I have this book on my TBR since it was announced ….and it took me a lot of time to be able to buy it. I know it’s not that okay, but most of the time i wait until books are on sale to buy them otherwise i’ll go broke. It tooka few years but i managed to find it once on sale and since then… i never touched it. Still i will read it, heck i own it. I just don’t know when yet.

My Seventh-Grade Life in Tights

4. My Seventh Grade On Thights by Brooks Benjamin.

This sounds like such a different book from others, i really wanted to read it, but i justm bought it and left it on my kindle like it doesn’t even matter. This is one of those boos i was EAGER to read when i heard about it but it took me so long to get i sort of “lost interest” i still want to read it, but i have so many books on my TBR right now… it will have to wait a little.

Larry and the Meaning of Life

3. Larry and The Meaning of Life by Janet Tashjian.

The gospel according to Larry is one of my favorite books of all time. It is also the first book in a trilogy i didn’t know was a trilogy when i first read it back in 2006. The moment i heard it had two more books i ran (well not literally) to buy them. I read the second book in the trilogy and didn’t enjoy it as much as i did the first one, so the third one was left… unread… still i want to finish the trilogy and i still love the characters so i may or may not have this one on my TBR for 2021.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August

2. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North.

When i started buying books in English this was one of the ones i bought. I remember at the time i was very onto people having several lives ( i just adore that trope) and it sunded as a great book, and i’m sure it is because as far as a i know the author is amazing. I just need to buy a digital copy of the book because i have a physical edition and the letters are really little and i have aproblem with that… so just, i’ll wait for the right time to buy it again, or maybe get the audiobook.

The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials, #3)
  1. The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman.

I usually call this the book of doom. I rememeber really enjoying the first two books of the trilogy but when i came to read the third and last i just couldn’t. There’s a really funny story of why i can’t read this book and if you want me i could tell it once. But for now, this is the one book i’m not planing on reading any time soon. If you are interested in the story of doom, let me know and i’ll make a storytime about it.

Well… those are the frist books on my TBR, they have been waiting there forever and only the books God knows when they’ll be read by me…

  1. Oh I haven’t even started The Chaos Walking trilogy so I totally feel you on this list. I even got the black paperback editions that came out a few years ago, and still, nope.
And yes I am also struggling with picking up bigger books in recent years. It is just easier to read thinner books inbetween taking care of a toddler.

  2. I also have a copy of the First Fifteen Lives of Harry August but still not created time to pick it up.
I highly recommend the Pullman trilogy – very good.
