Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you’re all with your loved ones and having a wonderful time!
I decided for this special day to share with you my favorite reads of the year since it is my favorite day of the year 😃.
All the books in this post were ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me.
Come tumbling down by Seanan McGuire – this being a favorite this year wasn’t a surprise since i totally love the Wayward Children series. This book comes close to the first and third installments in how much i loved it. Absolutely amazing like the others.
Music from another world by Robin Talley – this book surprised me a lot. I read it because i received it as an arc and was about to dnf when i good really sweet and interesting and i ended up adoring it.
The black flamingo by Dean Atta – this book had me on tears so many times, i honestly can’t remember how many times. But i was wonderfully written and executed. I love this book to pieces, and recommend it so so very much.
Watch over me by Nina LaCour – such a wonderful writing. Nina knows how to talk about loneliness, guilt, sorrow. She has a way of making everything so real, so painful, so beautiful.
Foe by Iain Reid – i really enjoyed this book. Sure i got the plot twist pretty early in the book but still it didn’t disappoint me at all. It is creepy and weird and all sorts of intriguing.
When you were everything by Ashley Woodfolk – this book for me is the History is all you left me for friendship. It is written beautifully and it deserves a lot of love and attention. Thia book was so sad but i’m so happy i read it, it was beautiful.
The little prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry – Okay, so this isn’t the first time i read it, but it was the first time i fully understood its meaning or so i think and i cried so much with it, so i thought i was worthy of being on the list of my favorite of the year.
Home body by Rupi Kaur – I don’t usually read poems, but i read this book and it was beautiful. I felt so seen, so understood, it was just amazingly written. I adored it.
I didn’t read much this 2020, just 59 books, maybe i’ll get to 60 by the end of the year, but this are the ones that stayed with me the most. Obviously i recommend all of them because they are beautiful each on its own way, so i wanted to share them with you.
I hope you had a wonderful year full of reading and enjoying books!
Lots of love and a Merry Christmas!
