From the creator of This is Horror comes a new nightmare for the digital age.
After a teacher receives a weirdly arousing video, his life descends into paranoia and obsession. More videos follow – each containing information no stranger could possibly know. But who’s sending them? And what do they want? The answers may destroy everything and everyone he loves.
The Girl in the Video is The Ring meets Fatal Attraction for the iPhone generation.
Maybe i should have read the summary before going into the novella, but after having read it i feel it reveals too much.
The novella is about a teacher living in Japan with his wife when he starts receiving weird videos, from there it just gets ugly.
I think the thing i liked the most about the novella was the main character. Since it’s a novella characters don’t get very developed so, i couldn’t really like or dislike them much.
There isn’t much to say about it… so why am i reviewing this? mostly to tell you not to read the summary or you’ll get spoiled. Also, to say, i don’t think t was very well executed. I think this had the potential to be a a sort of Harlan Coben book but fell short because it doesn’t develops enough the story.
It is more of a thriller than a horror story. I men, i read half of it and went to sleep without even a second thought about the book. It really did not scary me at any moment, but if you want something to get you out of a slump and a quick read i’ll recommend it.
Overall i give it 2.5/5 stars.
