Kill The Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky

Kill the Boy BandGenre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Humor
Pages: 320
Publisher: Point
Rating: 4 stars

Summary: Just know from the start that it wasn’t supposed to go like this. All we wanted was to get near them. That’s why we got a room in the hotel where they were staying.

We were not planning to kidnap one of them. Especially not the most useless one. But we had him—his room key, his cell phone, and his secrets.

We were not planning on what happened next.

We swear.

My opinion on the book:

Oh man, the memories. Reading the book brought me back to the times i used to love a band so much that i wanted to do crazy stuff with my friends to meet them and wrote fanfiction. I guess that’s a phase every fangirl passes. I think that’s why i felt such a strong connection with the book immediately.

The story is full of fun moments, the idea of the plot was completely fresh and amazing, not to mention relatable (until certain point).

I personally really enjoy the four personalities of the characters, the fangirls. I could find me and my back in the day friends in them. Their stories and feelings felt real and accurate enough for the story to make sense in the way it can.

It’s funny how it feels like you are actually reading one of those fanfics where the writer imposes herself/himself in the story, but at the same time it was so original and well managed, the ‘idols’ were nothing but totally secondary characters.

I think it’s important to say, i totally loved the turning point of this book, you see, you may think this book it’s just about some random fans and their love for the most popular boy band in the world, but there’s the point of  not turning back, when all hell breaks lose and at first i was like ‘wtf?’ but then it became so intense, it was simply amazing.

The thing about the book is that it looks like a completely harmless book while it actually it’s sort of a wild ride. Some of the stuff written in the book made me look back, to my own self, the Tokio Hotel fan, and realize a lot of stuff i could not see at the time.

A great way of understanding and getting to enjoy once again, in a more grown-up fashion style the times when you felt the same as the main character and boy, did i wish i had realize some of the stuff it’s said in the book back in the day.

Anyway, an amazing reading, i enjoyed it very much. Also, a really fast reading, since it gets funny and intense. Completely awesome. Would recommend to all the fangirls and fanboys that are and were at there at some point in time.

Happy Reading! ❤

Clems.
